Disintegration album5/15/2023 ![]() ![]() Personally I love the singles album the most- it's a solid gold listen all the way through, but my favorite album will always be Disintegration. They promptly became my favorite band and I collected everything in their catalog. I haven't followed them since Disintegration though.I discovered the Cure a little late, when Kiss Me came out. I had every cassette tape way back when, but only have a handful of their cd's now. They were my favorite band in high school. Pornography and Standing On A Beach (Unavailable B~Sides) are my favorite albums of theirs. I wouldn't begin to try and decide my favorite Cure album, depends on my mood. Their songs sound huge live! I have covered a few of them including A Hundred Years and they all are amazing from a compositional standpoint. But yeah, the synths usually have a supporting role in the song to add depth. So getting cure synth sounds isn't really possible, because they have no signature synth sound, personally I would say a DX7 was used most often, someone else suggested a JX8P or JX I could definitely see that since those are kind of "Blah" synths that were available in that era, they were also used on Whitesnake's hits and Europes the Final Countdown, late 80's wern't a great time for synths, things got real crappy real quick, by 1990 you could make a case that "real" synths were no longer being made, a keyboard machine used to replicate other instruments isn't nessarilly a "Synth" as we understand it todaySmith's guitar playing is underrated too, so much feel in it.
